Seerat’s story
Seerat's family keeps a small collection of houseplants at home, and she noticed the same plant would sometimes get watered twice in one week and other times get forgotten for two, simply because nobody could remember the last time. Biota, her Home Gardenist helper, is her fix for that.
In the Make It a Real App phase, Seerat built the app around one main screen: a clear today's-tasks card at the top, and a full plant list below showing exactly how many days until each one needs water again. She used AI to help build the screens while deciding the actual watering logic and tips herself.
The trickiest part was writing care tips that were genuinely useful without assuming existing gardening knowledge, since the whole point of the app was to help beginners, including her own family, not people who already knew what they were doing.
