The problem

Getting a younger child to finish homework without a daily argument often relies on a promised reward that is decided in the moment and easy to forget or argue about later, rather than a clear, visible system both the parent and child agreed on in advance.

The solution

Coin Bank turns finished homework into coins, and a parent sets up a fixed reward shop in advance, like extra game time or picking dessert, so the child can see exactly what they are working toward and redeem it themselves once they have enough coins.

Monetisation service

Free for one child profile with up to 3 reward shop items. A £2.99/month family plan adds multiple children and unlimited reward shop items, aimed at families with more than one child to motivate.

Muslim’s story

Muslim's idea for Coin Bank came from noticing how often a homework reward gets decided on the spot and then forgotten or argued over. He wanted something both a parent and a child could look at and agree on before homework even started.

In the Make It a Real App phase, Muslim built the app around two connected screens: a simple coin balance that grows with finished homework, and a reward shop a parent sets up in advance with a fixed coin price on each item. He used AI to help build both screens while deciding the actual coin-earning and redeeming rules himself.

The trickiest design decision was making sure a locked reward still looked appealing rather than discouraging, since the whole point was to make working toward something feel achievable, not distant.
