When kids get stuck on homework, it is very easy to search for the exact answer online and copy it, which gets the homework done but skips the actual learning, and leaves parents unsure how much help is too much.

Homework Clue only ever gives step-by-step clues, never the final answer, so a stuck student gets nudged toward the method themselves, with a daily streak that rewards finishing homework honestly rather than just quickly.

Abdullah’s story
Abdullah, 9, noticed that when he gets stuck on homework, the honest answer is usually already sitting online somewhere, and it is very tempting to just copy it rather than work it out. His idea, Homework Clue, is built around a rule he set for himself: the app is only allowed to give clues, never the final answer.
Each question comes with up to three clues that get more specific if you are still stuck, plus a daily streak to make finishing homework without giving up feel like a small win. In the Make It a Real App phase, Abdullah designed the whole flow himself, from the big friendly Get a Clue button down to the streak stars, and used AI to help build the screens while keeping the actual rules of the app his own.
Writing clues that help without giving the game away turned out to be the hardest part. It took several tries to get a maths clue that nudges you toward the method without just doing the sum for you.
